Backwards Tie-dying

My birthday was on July 25th [i am now 13!] so i had a Birthday party on the 31st. My mom had this awesome idea: Backwards Tie-dying! yes, i know people have done it before she didn't actually come up with the idea. Well, what you do is take a colored shirt [darker is better, we did yellow and a light blue, they didn't work] and then roll it up like you would a normal tie-dye shirt than than pour bleach on it, which makes that part faded, or white. Now, the recipe we had said 4 parts water 1 part bleach, but it didn't show up at all so we just kept adding more bleach, but it was probably just the shirts we had so try 4 parts water 1 part bleack first! I hope you enjoy doing this craft, it is so fun and the shirts look great!! Oh, and when you are doing this make sure you have clothes that you don't mind if they get bleach on them, because you probably will. :)

Spa Party

For my 11th birthday i had a "spa" party. The "spa" was set up in our grandparents porch [above] it was complete with Foot Scrubs, Facials, Nail Painting, Hair and more it was really fun! although almost everyone got an allergic reaction to the homemade facials, yes that includes me, and on my birthday! here was the day's schedule: 

1) Foot Scrubs, we each got our own loofah and soaked our feet in a bowl/bucket filled with hot water, then my Mom and my Aunt. Katherine came around a gave us each a little bit of mango foot scrub and we scrubbed our feet with our loofah. then rinsed them off in our water.

2) Facials, we had guacamole and strawberry facials i chose half and half, and we had a choice of cucumbers or tea bags to put on our eyes i started with cucumbers but they fell off so i used tea bags. then almost everyone started to get really itchy [these are homemade facials all natural stuff] so we went outside and my mom washed it off with a rag and we all had little red blotches on our face [hives?] they went away after a little bit.

3) Nails, we took all our nail polish and set it up on a table then we each came over and my mom painted our nails no special manicures :) but it was fun!

4) Hair, My sister Rebekah was in charge of this station, Curling irons, straitening irons and other fun stuff, we each got our hair wet in a bowl of water and then got it dried and styled how ever we wanted it.
